A very sweet and dear friend of mine has a book on the shelves right now. It came out (officially) yesterday and is a fantastic read in the Love Finds You Series. Even if you’re not normally an inspirational or even a fan of Amish books, this is a great story and I hope you’ll check it out. You can find Serena’s website HERE and a purchase link HERE. Oh, and a note on the beautiful girl pictured on Serena’s website? That’s her daughter-in-law. How cool is it to be the model of your mother-in-law’s book?!

Are you a fan of Amish books?

Pre-conference Madness

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

The pre-conference madness has begun. I thought I had a few more days before I had to really kick into gear but things keep coming up. I need books for this event, postcards for that one. A certain outfit for another. Ack! :chair: LOL Writers are such introverts. Myself included. All the fuss makes me long for a beach chair. :sunny: I love going to the Romance Writers of America’s National Conference. It’s a blast–but exhausting. Keeping track of it all drives me a bit batty. :bat:

If you’re not on Facebook, I hope you’ll sign up and find my Kay Stockham Fan Page. I’ll be posting pics and conference goings-on from there. I have two Facebook pages now, a private, personal one and my professional author one. Be sure to pick the Fan Page (unless I know you personally).

My CP Serena Miller has a book getting ready to officially hit the shelves August 1. It’s an Amish romance in the Finding Love series titled SUGARCREEK OHIO. I’ll see if I can’t rustle up a cover for you and post it as well. Anyway, great read. And an absolutely fabulous person. Serena is one of a kind so I hope you’ll check it out.

What are you reading?

Patricia Sargeant

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

A writer friend by the name of Patricia Sargeant has a new book on the stands called HEATED RIVALRY. I haven’t read it yet (plan on picking it up today) but having read Patricia’s past releases I have no doubt this book will be just as well-written and romantic. Patricia has great characterization (an absolute must for me), and her writing simply flows. Best of all, Patricia is a genuinely NICE person. Ever met a writer you love to read but you walk away from an in-person meeting disappointed? I hate to say it but I have. Well, Patricia is the type of person who is everyone’s friend. She’s funny, sweet, and one of those people who leaves you smiling. I hope you’ll give her books a chance.

For more information on Patricia and her books, go here.

Have you read anything great lately you’d like to pass along?

I’ve heard for years how good Susan Crandall’s books are but I hadn’t had a chance to read them. Well, that changed last December when I attended the Romancing the Holidays booksigning and I picked up Susan’s SEEING RED. The story takes place sixteen years after the heroine’s cousin was abducted, raped and left for dead and the man convicted of the crime is out on parol. Suddenly the heroine is being stalked, but the ex-con is crying foul stating he was wrongly convicted, people are beginning to believe him–and they’re becoming more suspicious of the hero, the cousin’s ex-boyfriend (and the heroine’s present love interest) who has reappeared after all these years and says he’s there to protect the heroine.

I’m about halfway through this book and loving it, which is why I’m recommending it. Susan Crandall balances suspense and romance very well, giving you an emotion-packed look into the lives of those left behind after such a tragedy.

Have you read Susan’s books? Want to recommend something you’re currently reading?
