The invitation has arrived…

Friday, June 29th, 2007

The much anticipated invitation to Harlequin’s annual bash at Romance Writers of America’s National Conference has arrived! I can’t wait. I have a dress, jewelry and the cutest, most gorgeous pair of shoes that will kill my feet five minutes after I put them on. I’m good to go— dancing that is! <G>

Harlequin throws the best party every year. Before I sold to Superromance, I’d spend Friday nights at the conference watching the authors laugh and go their merry way out the hotel doors in their fancy dresses and dream of the day I’d get to go, too. Now I can and I can’t tell you how grateful I am. All the hard work, the long hours, (the back aches!) have paid off. Fun, fun, fun! The countdown is on!

Remembering to breathe…

Monday, June 25th, 2007

I just finished backing up my wip (work in progress)–the first of the Tennessee Tulanes! Smile Just in time, too. Between signings, line edits and revisions on other books coming up etc, I was down to the wire and squeaked under with enough time to read through one more time before sending it off.

Basically it means I can breathe again–for a day or so anyway. <G> My next deadline isn’t until October 30 BUT I’ve got a whole lotta stuff crammed into the months in between. Is it just me or is life more hectic than it used to be?

The last of my booksignings for HIS PERFECT WOMAN are over until RWA National’s conference so don’t forget to pick your copy of HIS PERFECT WOMAN while you’re out and about. Superromances are only on the shelves a short period of time and that time is almost up. After that it will only be available online while supplies last.

And now that I’m finished with my first sexy, hunky Tennessee hero , Garrett, I’m off to run some errands and play catch up, then get to begin the fun all over again with another sexy brother—Nick.  All I can say is YUM.  I love my job. Smile

The busy week ahead

Monday, June 18th, 2007

Shew! I’ve got a busy week ahead of me. Wink An appearance on our local radio station, the library and a multi-location signing. I hope you’ll check out my appearances page for the signing locations and date and stop by. Appearances are so much fun, but I’ll admit they are draining! The introvert trying to be an extrovert. *giggle* But I love meeting readers and group signings are a blast. No author wants to sit at a table alone—what if no one shows up? <G>

So, I hope you’ll come join the fun. The radio interview is on WNXTradio.com on Wednesday AM (much too early for me!) at the 8 o’clock hour and they have web streaming. Just click on the link to “Listen Live” once you get to the website.

As to the library appearance–Thursday evening, Portsmouth Main Branch, 6:30. See you there! (and no, these two aren’t listed on my appearances page–it needs updated like everything else around my house! Wink)

Enjoy your week! I’m off to finish going through my final printout of A Christmas To Remember–Jack’s book!

The Next Best Thing?

Friday, June 15th, 2007

Everyone’s doing it. What was once considered few and far between is now the norm. You want to better sell a book, you make a trailer to give your readers something more. Personally, I LOVE trailers. I think if they’re well done readers get an inside look at the story that makes all the difference in whether they purchase the book or not. Trailers can be a fantastic selling tool in a market where every edge is necessary to succeed.

But it also makes me wonder—what’s the next best thing? The next NEW thing? In what’s becoming an age of quick reads where visuals are key, what do you think is the upcoming everybody’s-gotta-do-this marketing strategy? And if you know, or think you know–will you share?

The Launch Party Scavenger Hunt is on!

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

Okay, first off, I hope you’ll stop by www.pinkladiesblog.com today. Agent Jennifer Schober is guest blogging with us and giving us some insight as to how she goes about choosing the books she represents. Whether a reader or a writer, it’s great to have an idea of why and how the books on the shelves actually got there.

And, the HIS PERFECT WOMAN’s LAUNCH PARTY SCAVENGER HUNT has begun! The contest page is working so grab your copy of HIS PERFECT WOMAN and enter to win an awesome prize. I’ve designated a portion of the royalties from HIS PERFECT WOMAN to a cancer charity which means EVERY sale counts! Please spread the word and enjoy a love story in the process. Smile
