Interesting Post

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Two things. First, I’m part of Patricia Sargeant’s Inspired Minds post at www.pinkladiesblog.com today–and offering up prizes. Please take a moment to stop by and say hello.

Second, I came across a poll today that really had me sitting up and paying attention. What makes you pick up an author’s work? Check it out at http://www.livejournal.com/poll/?id=1007999teresareasor@msn.com. Very, very interesting. Do you agree?

Holiday craziness and a new title!

Monday, November 26th, 2007

I love Christmas. I love the reason for the season, I love the cheeriness in the air and the attitude that it’s best to give than receive. I love it. Period. But while I’m in the mood for Christmas this year, I’m not in the mood for decorating. Me, the woman who puts up numerous trees and decorations until it looks like Santa’s workshop threw up. LOL I have one tree up and I’m thinking that one is enough this year. Ever watch Christmas With The Kranks where they decide to ’skip’ Christmas? They don’t, of course, and I have no intention of doing so either, but I do think my massive assortment of Christmas decorations may not leave the attic this year.

On another note I have a new title! The second of the Tulanes of Tennessee series has been dubbed HIS SON’S TEACHER and will be released in July, 2008. Whoo-hoo! Now, keep those fingers crossed. I have two other proposals turned in for the next two Tulane stories and I’m waiting to hear if my editor likes them. I loved writing them, so we’ll see.

More on Booksignings

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

I had a great weekend of booksignings thanks to the help of Wal-Mart and Borders Books & Music.

I showed up for the signing at Wal-Mart and found a great surprise in the form of a banner hanging out front. Isn’t it cool?walmartbannersigning.jpg

Here’s a pic of the wonderful Andersen rep who set things up. She was so nice! Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of Janet, her assistant. Sorry, Janet! Frown

Photo of reader, Kelli and myself. I met Kelli two years ago at my very first signing and she’s come to nearly all of them ever since. Thanks, Kelli!meandkelliwalmartsigning.jpg

Here’s one of the super nice Kathy from The Paperback Exchange. meandkathywalmartsigning.jpg

I had another signing later that afternoon at Borders but forgot to take pictures. Frown

Now, it’s back to the grindstone. I’ve got a lot to do writing-wise before the holiday madness really begins. ACK!

Booksignings

Friday, November 16th, 2007

Just a note to say I hope I see a lot of friendly faces at the booksignings this weekend! I stopped by the Ashland Wal-Mart Supercenter the other day and just happened to catch the merchandiser straightening things up. She said they had a big shipment of A CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER ready to go–and I’d so like to make a good impression. <G> Have a reader in your life? Don’t know what to get someone who has everything? How about an autographed book? LOL I’ll be signing from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Ashland (KY) Wal-Mart Supercenter, and from 2 to 4 PM at Borders Books & Music in the Huntington (Barboursville, WV) Mall. The Borders signing includes authors Lora Leigh, Marcia James and Jules Bennett.

Winterfest Donation

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

2007winterfestdonation-006-2.jpg

A few years back someone came up with the idea of having a Winterfest in our school district to help raise money for the band. Kids sing, crafters put up displays, baskets and trees–and now bookcases Wink– are auctioned off.

Last weekend I attended the Winterfest and thought I’d pass along a picture of my donation. Isn’t it cool?! For the second year in a row I’ve donated an entire bookshelf full of autographed (donated) books—$730 dollars worth!. Next to it is an alpine tree lit and loaded with scrapbooking supplies and wrapped around the base is a gorgeous afghan donated by a friend. I loved it! Someone got a very, very good deal.

Also, by now you’ve probably read about PLB closing its cyber doors on December 15. I don’t keep a steady blog here as you’ve no doubt seen, so I thought I might bring in a guest blogger once a week. How’s that sound? Fun? Any particular author you’d like to get to know better? If so, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.

Have a great weekend and I hope to see you at the signings in KY and WV!!! (For details, please go to my Appearances page.)
