Getting to know Lori Foster
Thursday, January 31st, 2008
This week we’re getting to know Lori Foster, one of my all-time favorite authors. Lori is sweet and down to earth, and her ability to write characters (especially heroes) everyday people can identify with is an amazing thing. I’m so looking forward to Lori’s latest release, Hard To Handle, on shelves February 5! For more information on Lori, her amazing reader event in June and her charitable work, check out her website.
And now, let’s get to know Lori a little better!
Favorite thing to do in your down time?
[Lori Foster]  Go to the movies. I’m a movie nut and will happily sit through just about anything except chick flicks and dramas. Mostly I love action and horror.
Movies or sitcoms?
[Lori Foster] Â Movies. I cant stand sitcoms!
Favorite comfort food or snack?
[Lori Foster]  Depends on the situation. If it’s cold outside, and we’re talking lunch, then Chicken and noodles. Pretty simple, but oh so tasty, especially if I can have some of my mother in law’s canned tomatoes with it.
If it’s toward evening, I like a sweet bowl of oats and some buttery toast.
The kindest thing anyone has ever done for you is?
[Lori Foster]  When I had my second son, a neighbor brought over dinner. It was sloppy joes with cheesy potatoes and a two liter of pop. But I was blown away by her generosity! Right up there with that kindness was something a friend did for me. I was sick with bronchitis, felt terrible, but my husband was on 3rd shift and I had 3 kids in bed when I started to feel really awful. My friend had called, heard how sick I sounded, and the next thing I knew she was at the door with cough medicine, cough drops, etc… she’s a nurse and knew the best stuff to get.
I’ll never forget how each of those ladies went out of their way for me. Very, very kind, and memories I’ll never forget.
Are you a planner or do you like surprises?
[Lori Foster] I’m definitely a planner. I’m overly organized and like things to happen as they should. The occasion FUN surprise is fine, as long as it doesn’t mess up my schedule.

If so, you might want to consider something. I just confirmed my donation to Brenda Novak’s online auction (check out out at Brenda’s
I got a nice surprise in the mail yesterday–foreign copies of A CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER from Mills & Boon, Harlequin’s other half across the ocean. I love getting foreign copies, even if they are in English. LOL
