Busy

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Have you ever been so busy doing *stuff* that you can’t get the other stuff you need to do, done? Nailbiting I feel that way now. The deadline looms and I’m getting frantic because it seems everyone has plans for me that doesn’t include writing. *sigh* I need a cave, somewhere to go where I can have some peace and just hang out with my characters. A friend invited me to go to the beach this week. It’s still cold there but–we’re talking THE BEACH! I had to turn her down. Do you know how badly that sucked? LOL I wanna go!

So, when life gets hectic, what do you do to cope? Make lists? Call in the troops and delegate? How do you get it all done?

Rain , rain

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

let me sleep!

I love it when it rains. The sound of it on the roof, hitting the windows. The problem is I like it too much because when it rains like it is now I want to sleep :bookslp: not work.

What about you? Do you like curling up on the couch with a cup of tea on days like this?

Tax time

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Anyone else feeling the pain, the headache? Oh, my aching brain! :headwall: Every year I say I’m going to be better, be more organized, get things together earlier. :blah2: But then the day of our appointment comes and I’m bleary-eyed from staying up so late. :bookslp: Now I feel like this Razzanhit: But I think I have stuff together. :grouch:
We’ll see how it goes.

The winner of last week’s drawing is: Sonya! Sonya, please email me privately with your shipping info.

What about you? Have you done your taxes? Do you have a system for keeping track of things?

Kay – who used to be more organized…really! :sleepL

Summer Plans

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

The big discussion has been taking place in recent weeks. You know the one, the what-are-we-doing-for-summer-vacation discussion. We’ve talked about going to the beach mainly because we’re all craving the sun and heat :sunny: but we’ve gone so many times we’re wondering…what else is out there? Yes, the beach is easy and convenient. We know our way around, we have a favorite place to stay, but do we want to do it again?

We’ve talked about foregoing vacation all-together this year, staying home and saving our money and putting it toward the house we hope to build one of these days. But honestly? Between my dh’s stressful job and the stress of our lives, neither one of us can imagine NOT getting away, even if it’s just for a few days. It’s the reward for a long year.

I tossed going to Montana into the hat but was quickly nixed. Anyone wanna go to Montana with me? Cowboy My dh says if it doesn’t have a throttle or brake he doesn’t know what to do with it. :quad: LOL I’d soooo love to go, though. This Kentucky farm girl can totally imagine a week of riding, campfires etc.

As much as we’d love to go to Alaska or on a cruise or something, we just don’t have it in our budget–and they seem sooo far away (even farther than Montana!). Whatever we do, it needs to be on the east coast or somewhat near Ohio.

So, what are you doing this summer? Any plans? Any suggestions for me and the fam?

Biggest Loser

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Anyone else watch the show? I’ve missed the last few but had them on TiVo and had a mini-marathon last night (fast-forwarding a lot–who has time??) but the one where they were all sent home for a week just broke my heart. I’m a huge fan of Ron and his son, but the image of his younger son sobbing because at the sight of his dad and brother he realized he was the biggest in the house? Oh, the tears wouldn’t stop. I hope and pray the execs at The Biggest Loser will get that kid on the show. He needs it so badly, poor guy. You could tell he’s given up hope of ever being thin or healthy.

So what about you? What shows are must watch? No matter how long I go between episodes, I have to watch TBL. It’s so inspiring, so informative!
