I’m not a big TV watcher. When I watch, it’s typically something I’ve recorded so I can watch at my convenience and fast-forward through the commercials and boring parts. LOL Recently, though, I’ve been watching Kirstie Alley’s show and laughing my head off at the antics in that house as Kirstie tries to lose weight, run a business etc. Add in the number of people in her house with two teenagers, a maintenance guy (her ‘chubby buddy’, secretaries, dresser/stylist, housekeeper etc, and it adds to the hilarity. The housekeeper is absolutely hysterical. The Biggest Loser is also a fave (hmmm…sensing a theme here. LOL)

When I was a kid I couldn’t wait for summer vacation. I couldn’t wait to bake in the sun, read good books, stay up late and watch television. Now?

I still like summer vacation. Summer vacation is when our schedules go out the window and we can do whatever we like without having to worry about bed times, tests or field trips. It’s when we can pack a bag, jump in the car and go if we want to, or stay, vegge out and just have fun.

I love summer vacations with my kids, especially since they’re getting older and I know they won’t be around much longer. Once jobs and college and all that stuff hits in a few years, I know I’ll have an empty nest. So now? Now, I’m enjoying the fact that it’s almost summer vacation. I can write with my kids home and underfoot (the dh is another story! LOL)

One of the suggested blog topics for me was to say whether or not I’ve ever been told I have a celebrity look-alike. Well, I’m not sure *I* see the resemblance but from the time my husband and I were dating he’s told me I resemble Marie Osmond. Yup, Marie. I think it’s the dark hair and lipstick. LOL I have a lipstick addiction. Can’t go for long without it.

These days my hair is a bit lighter than my norm but according to him, the resemblance is there.

Anyone have roses? I have some beautiful “Knock-out” roses outside my office window. The last few years they have put on stunning displays of blooms but this year it appears as though something has happened to them. :baby: No blooms, no buds, no greenery! They’re protected from the worse of the wind etc by the house. Maybe it was the long winter? *sniff*

My session at my RWA chapter meeting went well Saturday. I think I made sense. LOL I’ll never be comfortable in front of a crowd, however. Ick.

School is almost over here. Only *GULP* 8 MORE DAYS!!!

The first month, I’m good. My two have noooo problems entertaining themselves. But that second month? That’s when boredom kicks in. Any suggestions?

I spent the morning cleaning (Oh, I do so looooove it when my house is clean!) and am hard at work on a synopsis now. I’ve made some pretty substantial changes and positively love the outcome. Much more my ’style’.

So, I’m giving a presentation tomorrow on Writing Emotionally Compelling Characters. In a sentence–I’m freaked. LOL

One of my goals for the year is to break out of my shell and do more of the things I wouldn’t normally do. Such as:: cooking classes, public speaking, etc. Which basically means, when they asked, I agreed.

Ohhhhh, what was I thinking? LOL

I have my presentation prepared. I think it’s understandable. :wave2: anhit: I guess we’ll see. I’ve given a version of the talk before on a panel discussion but this time it’s allllllll me so I had to expand quite a bit.

So what about you? Are you the type to get up in front of a crowd and gab away? The shy type like me?
