I’ve heard for years how good Susan Crandall’s books are but I hadn’t had a chance to read them. Well, that changed last December when I attended the Romancing the Holidays booksigning and I picked up Susan’s SEEING RED. The story takes place sixteen years after the heroine’s cousin was abducted, raped and left for dead and the man convicted of the crime is out on parol. Suddenly the heroine is being stalked, but the ex-con is crying foul stating he was wrongly convicted, people are beginning to believe him–and they’re becoming more suspicious of the hero, the cousin’s ex-boyfriend (and the heroine’s present love interest) who has reappeared after all these years and says he’s there to protect the heroine.
I’m about halfway through this book and loving it, which is why I’m recommending it. Susan Crandall balances suspense and romance very well, giving you an emotion-packed look into the lives of those left behind after such a tragedy.
Have you read Susan’s books? Want to recommend something you’re currently reading?

I found her several years ago. She wrote a book titled Magnolia Sky(ies?)that was set in Mississippi where I live. There aren’t too many books set in Mississippi unless it’s Eudora Welty or John Grisham. I’m always on the hunt for a modern romance novel set here in my home state. Magnolia Sky was really good. I’d also like to recommend Robyn Carr’s Virgin River series, Karen Rose’s suspense series, and Brenda Novak. Lots of good reading there to treat yourself with after working so hard writing your own.

I agree with Linda about the Virgin River Series and Karen Rose’s work. Linda Lael Miller’s McKettricks Of Texas:Tate is good. If you like erotic romance try the Rough Rider Series by Lorelei James.

I’ve read her earlier contemporary romances, but I think she’s better at romantic suspense. I’ve read SEEING RED and recently purchased her new one SLEEP NO MORE.
If you’re in the mood for more romantic action/suspense, try Cindy Gerard’s Black Ops Inc. Her latest is FEEL THE HEAT. It’s in my TBR pile.
I also finished Lisa Cooke’s TEXAS HOLD HIM and Susan Mallery’s Lone Star Sisters series (these were really good).

She is a new author to me… I will have to check into her books.. I too will jump in and agree about Robyn Carr and Linda Lael Miller series and also add Shrryl Woods, Magnolia series and well as Susan Wiggs Lakeshore Chronicles.
Of course it goes without saying that The Tulanes of Tenneesee is one to read for sure.. I just this past week finished She’s The One.. I loved it..
