A death in the family
Just a flyby…
We are mourning the loss of my husband’s grandmother so I’ll be scarce for a day or so. But to keep things happening here, I’d love to hear your fondest memory of your grandmother (or mother/loved-one) from your childhood.
Hug those still with us,
Kay

I am so sorry for your loss. Grandmothers are very special people.. I have many, hundreds of her. I think our trip to Ireland and Scotland together was a hightlight. She was 70 and I 21. We had both had milestone birthdays that year and our families threw us both big surprise parties. And they were two weeks apart. My grandmother and I are both Pieces and we always got along like a house on fire.. So with all the money we both got, we took our trip together and had a wonderful time.. I have lots of pictures and a host of memories in my heart to remeber her by.. There has not been a day in 15 yrs since she has been gone that I don’t miss her and think about her..
May you loved one rest in peace..

Kay I am so sorry for your loss. Its been a sad year hasn’t it? Sending you much love and prayers.
I don’t remember my dad mom very well she died when I was 6 I think. My mom’s mom lived with us for a while. She was an old fashioned woman, always had a dress on and an hankie pin to her dress. She was a good german woman.

Sending hugs, thoughts, and prayers.
When I was little and the family went to visit my great-grandmother, she would send us upstairs to say hello to ‘Uncle’ Cliff – he would give my sisters and I a quarter each time. I found out many years later, he wasn’t exactly my uncle. He and my great-grandmother shared the duplex. They slept in the same room – in twin beds!

sending good thoughts your way, give hubby my regards.
I remember my grandfather very well. He passed when i was ten years old, so my sister has no memories of him since she was born a little before then. But he was a hoot, my favorite memory is the snack he’d give me. He’d take a ripe navel orange and roll it around a bit to juice it up, cut a small round hole in it then stick a piece of old fashioned peppermint stick candy in and tell me to use it as a straw. it was great, i miss him alot.
best wishes kay!
