Girlfriends
My daughter has friends over tonight and laughter fills my house every few minutes. I love it.
This week started off as a difficult one with a doctor visit, a migraine etc. All’s well now but knowing dd’s friends would be here had me remembering when I was her age, how my BFFs and I were inseparable. We’d talk for hours on the phone, even though we’d spent most of the day together. And every summer we lived at each other’s houses with my parents and theirs trading us off. :winner: :crowd:
I’m still very close with one of my BFFs from school. We’ve known each other, oh…*doing the math* OMG 32 years now? (Yes, I am that old. Heh.) But anytime I see girls hanging out together, laughing, talking, etc, I think of her. We were in each other’s wedding, spent day after day soaking up the sun by the pool, had classes together. You name it. So much fun.
Female friendships are priceless, precious, and I hope you have someone in your life that fits that spot. If you do, tell me about them. I’d love to get to know your BFF.

My BF is a woman I met over 10years ago when we worked at a bookstore together. We spent our evenings laughing. We live in the same town, but don’t get to see each other often. She’s busy with family. We try to get together for lunch as often as we can and spend time laughing. We do email each other every day when we are at work though. Plus, she went with me when I had to go for testing after an eye exam. It was nice to have her with me. After the appointment, we tried to find a restaurant we could see by the road, but had no idea where the entrance was (a curb ran alongside the front of the restaurant and it was set back off the road a bit). We turned down a road we thought would take us behind the building, but ended up past it somehow. We came to a red light, it was raining, my eyes were dilated to the point I couldn’t see clear, and she asked me what the street name was we were on! Of course we had a laughing moment. Somehow we always make fun out of something.

My BFF’s and I are very close and we talk all the time.. I live an hour or more away from them now and we don’t get to see each other as often as we did. We usually got together once a week, but now we are a little scattered. But I know that if I needed either of them, they would be right there for me. We still go away at least once a year on a girls weekend or a long, long weekend. And we always celebrate the milestone birthdays together with a dinner or a luncheon.
I love to hear the sounds of young voices having fun. I love it when I am over at my cousin’s house. She has three daughters and there are always big and little girls having fun doing all those things girls do…Makes me long for those days of fun and innocence.

I have know my BFF since freshman year in highschool. 36 yrs. Goodness. We may not talk every day or even every month. She has three kids and they are active. But I know if I need anything I can count on her to be there for me.
